Lothians teenager gets microlight pilot licence aged 17, just right after passing driving test


A teenager from Dalkeith has turn out to be 1 of the youngest men and women in the UK to earn a microlight pilot licence.

Aviation enthusiast Jordan Bathgate, 17, received his licence this weekend shortly right after passing his driving test.

Jordan even created it a hat-trick by having accepted into the University of West of Scotland to study aerononautical engineering.

He took the Civil Aviation Authority-authorized test in  January at East of Scotland Microlights in East Fortune.

Earlier, Jordan became 1 of the youngest men and women to pilot the Quik microlight aircraft solo.

“But I would not go out browsing for them, I consider I am very content material with the solo in this machine.”
