AROMAS — A 21-year-old Hollister man died and his male passenger was injured in a solo-automobile crash late Friday evening on San Juan Road.
Jessica Madueño, Public Details Officer with the California Highway Patrol, mentioned that for unknown motives the driver of a 2004 Toyota Tundra permitted his automobile to leave the roadway even though traveling eastbound on San Juan Road west of Murphy Road in Monterey County. The Toyota collided into a energy pole on the south shoulder, continued south and rolled more than.
The driver of the automobile was unrestrained and ejected from the automobile, Madueño mentioned. He was pronounced dead at the scene by emergency personnel. The passenger was transported to Natividad Health-related Center and treated for minor injuries.
The identity of the driver will be released pending notification of subsequent of kin.
