I Visited Bogota in July 2018, I had a direct flight from Quito Ecuador. A round trip Air ticket was less expensive than a one particular way ticket from Quito to Bogota.

Climate in July – evenings and nights get cold, pack some warm garments

Airport to Hotel taxi, I got a cab from outdoors the airport, and the cost was U$D 15.

Hotel – I stayed at Hostal Casa Cubil, Private space was $40 a evening, I loved my keep there, verify booking.com for discounts

Day 1 in Bogota

I met up with a buddy by way of Couchsurfing and we went exploring about town, mainly Zona Rosa region. Just after walking all afternoon/evening we ended obtaining dinner at a empanadas street meals location, I had some sort of a egg cheese empanadas for beneath a dollar.

At the time of writing this 1 U$D = 2900 Colombian Pesos.

Taxis are everywhere and have meters, not as well highly-priced.

Above Photographs: Juan Valdez café, there are more than 100 Juan Valdez cafés in Colombia and 2nd Image is BBC Bogota beer enterprise, there are a number of of these in Bogota as nicely.

Day two

I did two tours, the 1st one particular was a walking tour of Bogotá and the two one particular was a street meals tour. Each tours met in front of the Museo del Oro (Gold Museum)

I extremely advocate these tours, the 1st one particular began at 10 AM and the 2nd at two PM, right after the meals tour the group ended up at BBC, and I was back at my hotel by 10 PM.

Bogota one particular of the greatest cities in the planet for street art. Above image I took throughout the no cost walking tour of Bogota at La Candelaria district, walking toura are the greatest way to see a city with a very good nearby guide.La Candelaria district, the walking tour stopped fora alcoholic corn drink known as ‘chicha’ it is sweetened with brown sugar.

DAY three

An additional tour, this time a history tour, we met at plaza Bolivar and speak about the history, stroll to presidents residence or palace. The tour guide talked about the FARC and the drug wars. The tour ended with lunch at a french cafe.

Just after lunch the group decided to go to Monserrate Mountain in Bogota for some terrific view of the city from the prime. So we walked till the cable car or truck station, to take the cable car or truck to the prime of the mountain was about 10USD going and coming back.

Day four time to catch a flight.
