My seven tiny travel deviations

Each one particular of us has some deviations, strange habits. We do some thing that other individuals discover weird or eccentric. These days on the weblog I share with you my travel abnormalities.

I’m extremely busy with writing a guide lately, and I do not have a lot time or inspiration for writing new weblog posts. A handful of days ago, even so, my hand was itching me to create some thing private, and the exact same time on Facebook I saw handful of posts of distinct bloggers’ who wrote about their seven little deviations. So, as this is a travel weblog, let’s concentrate on travel theme: right here are my seven little travel deviations.

And do you have your tiny uncommon travel habits? One thing weird or funny? Or perhaps some of my deviations are extremely equivalent to yours? Share your opinions in the comments box beneath the text!

1. I create down each and every expense

This is in all probability my largest weird habits of all, but extremely sensible. I note each and every expense, even the smallest, like obtaining tissues. Thanks to that I know how a lot I spent through my trip on meals, transportation, visa, accommodation, and so forth.

I got applied to that so a lot that I began performing the exact same with my private expenditures. Mostly to cease wasting income on factors I do not want and save it for my trip. I use a extremely hassle-free app for MacBook known as Inspire Finance, which is one particular of my favourite applications. I can say that a decade ago I was inexperienced (and who is not right after graduating higher college?!) in tracking dwelling spending budget. Now I have all the things beneath handle!

two. I study on the road

I adore to strengthen, and I constantly have to discover some thing new on the road. And I do not imply self-improvement, but such places of information as history, biology or geography. At college, I liked these subjects, but general I was a extremely typical schoolgirl simply because I do not like when I’m forced to do some thing. But now no one is standing more than me with a whip, so I uncover material from higher college in my way – primarily via travelling.

History of the planet is my point. No one particular forces me to discover it so that I can study 1000-pages books of world’s history. I am interested in all the things – from antiquity to the twentieth century. All the things. For that reason, I like to sightsee on my personal simply because I can sit in the museum or someplace in ruins for hours. I believed I would die with happiness in Israel and Jordan – there had been so quite a few ancient stones! You wouldn’t like to be my guide – I’d overwhelm you with detailed inquiries.

Petra – my favourite spot in the planet!

three. I discover foreign languages

I adore understanding foreign languages, and in each and every nation, I am attempting to catch some standard phrases. That is why I like travelling gradually, staying in one particular spot and providing myself much more time to discover new words in a nearby language. Now I catch much more and much more sentences in Vietnamese, which I can use in every day life, but also quite a few words I do not want. Like animals that I in all probability will not use (like ‘a dinosaur’ – khủng lengthy – pronounce: hun lon).

Vietnamese came to me accidentally, but I also have some languages on my list that I want to discover greater, like Arabic or Japanese. I adore foreign languages, their logic or lack thereof, discovering grammar complexities, and above all – surprise and smile on the faces of my nearby interlocutors when I use their language!

four. I retain lists like crazy

I adore lists, while they do not necessarily have to be in the classic list kind. &#x1f609 Possibly I like them so a lot simply because I see my progress? I appear at the list and feel “you can do much more – push!” I have the map of the visited nations, the application on FB Cities I’ve Visited, the map of my flights, the list of books to study, the list of entries to create, extremely lengthy bucket list, list of areas to go to in Poland… Can I tick off all points? In all probability not, but the largest enjoyable is just chasing a bunny, not catching him!

three instances about Earth!

five. I’m a preparing junkie

I’m preparing some thing all the time, that is why I adore my travel bullet journal so a lot. I strategy what I have to do tomorrow and what subsequent month. I just stopped generating far-reaching plans, simply because I choose to go with the flow, but do not be concerned – I have a goal in life.

In travel, I normally have a list of attractions to see in a unique spot. If I have restricted time I do a day or a week strategy, while I attempt to leave some space for spontaneous discoveries. I use lists, tables and maps. And I adore it so a lot, perhaps that is why it is so enjoyable for me to organize my backpacking trips for girls.

six. I adore maps

I do not know when it began simply because I do not bear in mind that as a youngster I was tracking maps, but… I adore maps. A handful of years ago I purchased a big atlas of the planet simply because we had the old one particular with the Soviet Union (“Some young children do not even have one particular like that” my dad mentioned). Just before falling asleep, I looked at the shapes of nations, their neighbours, rivers, mountains, and so forth. Such a perversion. In Poland on the wall, I had a map of Europe, in Vietnam – a map of Vietnam of course and but I am hunting for a map of South East Asia!

7. I am thrilled by the space

This is in all probability the strangest of my deviations. When I’m standing on the ocean shore or in the desert, and I see the horizon ahead of me, I sigh strangely and get excited at the exact same time. There is such a big planet to uncover there! That is in all probability why I adore taking a plane simply because exactly where do you discover much more space like not up in the sky? I cry with a longing when I see the plane…

Nevertheless, I in no way felt this space in the mountains. I constantly had the impression that mountains surround me, limit this space … (I know it is strange.) And then I went to the Himalayas. Oh, it is so a lot space there! You just really feel its enormity and the closeness of the universe! I adore it!

oh, the Himalayas!

I created my coming out. My tiny travel perversions that I adore, I cherish, I am not ashamed of them, and even I am proud of them! And what are your travel deviations, huh? &#x1f642
