Exactly where else do you go for breakfast or lunch on cheat day but Cheatday Sydney in Peakhurst?
“We’ve been invited to verify out a location that serves cheat meals – burgers, thickshakes and other indulgent stuff,” I stated to the husband. The burger zealot he is, I believed his eyes had been going to spring out of his head. I hadn’t noticed him this excited because Miami won the NBA championships back in 2013.
To be completely sincere, burgers and thickshakes are not seriously my issue, even on cheat day. But cheesecake and pavlova certain are, and the guarantee of a cheesecake pavlova had us taking a trip into Sydney’s ‘burbs to verify out Cheatday Sydney.
Do not cheat oneself, treat oneself
This tiny entertaining shack in the South Western Sydney suburb of Peakhurst is playfully modelled about a health club, with lockers, boxing bags and hand weights serving as table numbers. There’s even bar stools with foot pedals, if you are so inclined to burn some calories when you wait for your cheat meals.
Even so, the all-day breakfast-lunch menu is not all complete-fat cheese. There’s lots of much less indulgent solutions like scrambled eggs, a grilled chicken roll and avocado on sourdough. There’s also coffee (courtesy of the Inner West’s Tiny Marionette Coffee Roasters) and lots of cake varieties.
But we’re right here to cheat!
Just after studying the menu like it was some pre-exam material, Jude chose the cheeky Major Mav – double beef, double cheese, pickles, lettuce and unique sauce on a triple sesame bun – adding seasoned fries and a vanilla thickshake. I went with the double cheeseburger, simply because apparently a regular cheeseburger is for the weak.
Becoming the non-burger zealot I am, I’ll take Jude’s word that Cheatday Sydney’s burgers are up there in the larger echelons of Sydney’s burger society.
Dessert didn’t disappoint either. Not only is the cheesecake pavlova extremely Instagramable with its rose petals and meringue kisses, it tastes divine with lots of crunch, tang and sweetness.
Cheatday Sydney is…
Complete of incredibly content men and women, like the day we visited one particular incredibly content husband.
Why all the happiness? Perhaps it is the truth that every thing is yum, in a naughty way. Perhaps it is simply because MyFitnessPal has the day off. Perhaps it is the uber friendly employees. Or perhaps it is the truth that you do not have to drive about the block eight instances to uncover a park – my Eastern Suburbs thoughts blown.
Just do oneself a favour, do not consume breakfast beforehand. And odds are you likely will not have to have to consume dinner soon after a stop by to Cheatday Sydney either.
