20 unique photos of Scotland

Hey guys! As we all know, 2019 is right here. Personally, I couldn’t be happier. 2018 was a truly hard year for me with lots of modify and ambiguity (leaving Uganda, moving back to Michigan, beginning grad college) so I’m not sad to see the back of it.

I’m feeling pretty hopeful about 2019, so I wanted to share my resolutions and objectives.

I warn you, this year I may perhaps have the world’s most boring resolutions — is this element and parcel of becoming in your late twenties?

Case in point – I’m writing this though drinking my initially oat milk latte (surprisingly scrumptious) since I’m carrying out dairy-totally free January. See what I imply?

1. Operate out 3 occasions a week + meal prep each and every Sunday

Historically, I’ve been an all-or-practically nothing exerciser. I either operate out six days a week or not at all. So this year, my purpose is to exercising a affordable 3 occasions a week. I’d also like to stick to workouts I currently know and like, like reformer pilates, tennis, skiing, and spinning. No a lot more Crossfit or strength education for me, thanks.

Ultimately, I’d like to meal prep at least two scrumptious, healthier meals each and every Sunday. I like possessing healthier meals on hand, so this is some thing I intend to prioritize.

two. Purchase books at regional bookstores

As an alternative of purchasing my books from Amazon, this year I want to help regional bookstores. Ann Arbor has so lots of quirky regional bookstores, and I want to do my element in maintaining them afloat.

three. Limit my rapid style purchases

I like Topshop as considerably as the subsequent girl, but right after watching The Accurate Price on Netflix, this year I want to curb my rapid style consumption. As an alternative of purchasing rapid style garments that will quickly disintegrate, I want to make an work to obtain pre-worn garments from Poshmark or from sustainable brands like Reformation.

four. Travel Michigan (+ Ultimately See Australia and New Zealand!)

As I pointed out on Instagram, I was born and raised in Michigan but have nonetheless never ever observed the Upper Peninsula! The shame. This year I want to discover my residence state and venture to new-to-me areas in the Mitten.

Subsequent winter, I will have a month off at the holidays (by the far the greatest element of grad college). So I Ultimately want to see Australia and New Zealand. If you have any Oz/NZ suggestions, please let me know!

five. Finish it anyway (i.e. create a lot more)

In 2019, I basically want to create a lot more. Due to imposter syndrome, I usually get started writing projects and abandon them at a later date. This year I want to create a lot a lot more than usual and even if I really feel the standard barrage of self-doubt, finish my writing projects anyway.

six. Get a three.9 or greater

Final semester I got a three.eight (likely the highest GPA in my academic profession!), so this year I want to get a three.9 or greater.

7. Get an internship in San Francisco

By far my most significant purpose this year is to land a summer season internship in San Francisco. Fingers crossed! (And if you know anybody in tech hiring for summer season interns in the Bay Region, umm hi!)

. . . . . . . . . . .

Notes on blogging — as you may perhaps have noticed, none of my 2019 objectives are blogging-associated. This is since grad college is super hectic, and I do not want to overload myself with 1 added factor on my plate. That becoming mentioned, I nonetheless like sharing about my life and travels with you guys, so I will likely post as soon as or twice a month. I also strategy on continuing my American Expats series, which I’ve truly enjoyed carrying out.

P.S. Keep tuned for my 2019 book suggestions subsequent week! 🙂

What about you? What are some of your resolutions for 2019?
